    Turning the demo function off If the clock has not been set, a demonstration of the display is shown when the unit is switched to standby. This function is set to on at the time of purchase. Turn this function off to get the most from the economy mode (see below).

    Setting the time This is a 24-hour display clock. This example in the figure shows how to set the time for 16:25 (4:25 p.m.). Press [f f f f f / 7 7 7 7 7 ] to switch on the system. Press [CLOCK/TIMER] to select “CLOCK”.

    Listening to compact discs Loading and checking CDs Always stop the changer before loading or changing CDs. You cannot change CDs while a disc is playing. How to load CDs Press [CD]. The system will come on automatically. Press [c c c c c OPEN/CLOSE 1] – [c c c c c OPEN/CLOSE 5], whichever you want.

    Listening to compact discs Sequential play Press [CD]. The system will come on automatically. Insert CD in the tray. (For details, see page 14.) Press [DISC 1] – [DISC 5] to select the disc you want. (If the desired CD is indicated on the display panel, the same operation can be accomplished by pressing [-/J].) Play will start from the first track on the selected disc, and will continue until the last track of the final disc (see below)

Press the numeric button to select the desired track number. The CD will be played from the selected track to the last track of the final disc (page 15).

    Listening to compact discs To listen to special CDs and tracks (CD Manager function) This function makes it easier for you to select special CDs and tracks from amongst those loaded in the player. You can use this function to make recordings as well. There are 3 CD/track selection modes.
