TURNING THE POWER ON

To turn the power on press the red (Sra) key. To turn the power o ff press the [
o ff
] key.
Sharp calculator has the A.P.O. (Automatic Power OFF). If the calculator is turned on in
error, or no calculation is performed, the calculator w ill turn itself o ff after about nine
minutes, saving battery power. To turn the EL-512 back on press the !C -C E I key.
To floating decimal system, depress the |2 n d F ] and I • I keys.

CLEARING

An incorrectly entered number can be replaced as long as the number has not already been
followed by a "function key."
Por example:
Key in: 5 [X ] 4 (The 4 should be 6)

Answer: 30
To clear the latest entry press the @ key once. If the @ key is pressed twice, the
calculator w ill be completely cleared except for material in memory. A ll previous calcu­
lations w ill be cleared if the [cT§ key is pressed after a function key.
In case o f one digit correction o f the entered number, use the right shift key.
Key in: 123 [T ] 12345687 (The 87 should be 78)
Key in: B 0 78 (= ]
Answer: 12345801
