Making calls

Activating/deactivating handsfree mode

In handsfree mode, instead of holding the handset to your ear you can put it down,
for example on the table in front of you. For example, this allows others to partici-
pate in the call.
Please note
Inform your caller before you use handsfree mode so that they know a third
party may be listening.
During a call, activate or deactivate handsfree mode:

If you wish to place the handset in the charger during a call:

Press and hold the handsfree key d while placing the handset in the charger
and for a further 2 seconds.

Muting the handset

You can deactivate the handset's microphone during an external call (including
during a conference or when call swapping). the other parties cannot hear you, but
you can still hear the other party.
Prerequisite: you are conducting an external call.

If a second call (call waiting) is received in mute mode, this is signalled acoustically
as usual. However, it is only shown on the display once the microphone has been
unmuted.
Please note
In mute mode, all keys on the handset are deactivated with the exception of the:

The upper side of the control key, that you can use to adjust the loudspeaker
volume for earpiece and handsfree mode
u
The right side of the control key (unmute microphone)
End call key a, that you can use to end the call
u
Talk key c, that you can use to activate/deactivate handsfree mode

Press the handsfree key.
Each key press switches between earpiece and handsfree mode. If
handsfree mode is activated, the key is lit up.
Press right on the control key to mute the handset. The display shows
Microphone is turned off.
Press the v key again to unmute the microphone.
