Troubleshooting Tips

PROBLEM
Unit does not turn on.
Radio has static.
Radio memory buttons do not
work.
No sound can be heard even if
the disc is properly loaded.
Sound distorted due to vibration
Inverted sound (Left/Right conn-
ections.)
No sound from front or rear
speakers
Sound distorted sometimes
A compact disc is sometimes
ejected. (Display shows "E1", an
error message.)
POSSIBLE CAUSE
Dead vehicle battery
Ignition or ACC is not on.
Bad power line connection
Fuse burned out
Antenna not hooked up
Close to high power lines
Not holding buttons down long
enough
The compact disc is inverted.
The compact disc is dirty.
The temperature inside the
vehicle is more than 140°F (60°C)
Excessive moisture
Wiring connection is not properly
done.
Volume control is at "minimum"
position.
Fuse of amplifier is blown out.
Installing method is bad.
The speaker cords are inverted.
The fader control is set on the
wrong position.
The compact disc may be
defective.
The compact disc is dirty.
The pickup lens is dirty.

PROBABLE SOLUTION
Charge vehicle battery.
Turn ignition to On or ACC.
Check connections.
Replace fuse.(consult your dealer)
Hook up antenna.
Move away from high power lines.
Press and hold buttons for more
than 2 seconds.
Insert the disc with label side
facing up.
Try to clean the compact disc by
instructions of disc cleaning.
Give the interior a chance to cool
down before using the unit.
Wait for a while before using the
unit.
Confirm all wiring connection
such as power cord, speaker
cords, etc.
Adjust the volume control to the
proper level.
Replace the fuse with the correct
rating.
Fix the unit securely.
Check the speaker cords.
Adjust the fader control of the
unit correctly.
Tr y to replace the disc with
another one.
Try to clean the compact disc by
instructions of disc cleaning.
Clean the lens. (Use CD lens
cleaning disc.)
