INTRODUCTION ECS II models have a radio frequency (RF) control system which can operate in three modes – MANUAL, AUTO and PROGRAM. The RF system has the advantage that the remote control does not need to be aimed directly at the heater. The control handpiece incorporates the thermostat, to sense the room temperature, so care should be taken when using it in the AUTO or PROGRAM modes not to hold it longer than necessary (your body temperature may mislead the temperature sensing bulb), and to put it down where it can sense the real room temperature, not under a cushion...

• Once the flame symbol appears on the display, the fan speed can be selected. Repeated pressing of the button will step the fan speed through its three speeds and OFF setting. Pressing the fan button when the fan has been set for its highest speed will turn the fan off.
• If the set temperature exceeds the current room temperature the flame symbol will show, increasing in size as the difference between the two increases. When operating in AUTO mode, the heater flame will be larger if the room temperature is well below the SET temperature, and it will decrease as the room nears the SET temperature.
