- Page 3 DMX512 connection / connection between multiple units XLR-connection: When using a DMX controller, connect the DMX output of the controller directly to the DMX input of the first unit in the DMX chain. Building a DMX chain: Connect the DMX output of the first unit in the DMX chain with the DMX input of the next unit. Always connect one output with the input of the next unit until all units are connected.
