Additional safety instruc-
tions

Residual risks.

Additional residual risks may arise
when using the tool which may not
be included in the enclosed safety
warnings. These risks can arise
from misuse, prolonged use etc.
Even with the application of the
relevant safety regulations and the
implementation of safety devices,
certain residual risks can not be
avoided. These include:
Injuries caused by touching any mov-
u
ing parts.
Injuries caused by touching any hot
u
parts.
Injuries caused when changing any
u
parts or accessories.
Injuries caused by prolonged use of
u
the appliance. When using any appli-
ance for prolonged periods ensure you
take regular breaks.

Electrical safety

The appliance is designed for use
with 12V negative ground vehicle
battery systems.
Warning! The cigarette lighter con-
nector is fitted with a non-serviceable
safety fuse. The fuse may operate in the
event of a fault. If this occurs the fuse
must be replaced together with the con-
nector and cable by the manufacturer or
an authorised Black and Decker Service
Centre in order to avoid a hazard.

ance with systems which have positive
ground or a different voltage.

Assembly
Adjusting the dust collector (fig. B)
The dust collector (8) is stored under the appliance. To
u
adjust for use, press the collector lock button (3) and
rotate the dust collector to the required position.
Release the collector lock button (3) to lock the dust col-
u
lector (8) in position.
The dust collector (8) can be extended by pulling the dust
u
collector extension (7) until it locks into position.
The extension can be retracted by pressing the button
u
(14) and pushing the extension (7) back into the dust col-
lector.
The dust collector (8) should be returned to the storage
u
position under the appliance after use.
Fitting the accessories (fig. C & D)
The appliance is supplied with the following accessories:
Two brush tools (10 & 11) for upholstery
u
An extension hose (12)
u
A hose connector (13)
u
Note: The brush tool (10) can be fitted into the front of the
appliance, the right-angled brush tool (11) can be fitted to the
end of the extension hose (12).
To fit an accessory, proceed as follows:
Insert the brush (10) into the front of the appliance.
u
Alternatively, fit the hose connector (13) onto the nose of
u
the appliance and attach one end of the hose (12) to the
connector.
