Close the throttle so that the engine
slows to idle speed.

Move the gear shift lever to the neutral
position.

Stopping boat (FPP2.8A)

The boat is not equipped with a separate
braking system. Water resistance stops it af-
ter the throttle lever is moved back to the fully
closed position. The stopping distance varies
depending on gross weight, water surface
conditions, and wind direction.

Stopping boat (FPP4A, FPP6A)

WARNING
Do not use the reverse function to slow
down or stop the boat as it could cause
you to lose control, be ejected, or impact
the load or other parts of the boat. This
could increase the risk of serious injury. It
could also damage the shift mechanism.
The boat is not equipped with a separate
braking system. Water resistance stops it af-
ter the throttle lever is moved back to idle. The
stopping distance varies depending on gross
weight, water surface conditions, and wind di-
rection.

Stopping engine

Before stopping the engine, first let it cool off
for a few minutes at idle or low speed. Stop-
ping the engine immediately after operating at
high speed is not recommended.

Procedure

FPP2.8A
1. Push and hold the engine stop button un-
til the engine comes to a complete stop.
2. After stopping the engine, tighten the air
vent screw on the fuel tank cap and set
the fuel cock to the closed position.
