Here'showtheywork.
Waterflowsfromthe household
suppIythrougha solenoidvalve
to the
(1)automaticicemakeras needed.
Wateris frozenin the
(~)cubemoldand ejectedintothe
(3) storagebin wherea motor-
poweredaugermovescubes
forwardintothe dispensingunit.
Cubesor crushedice, as selected
dispensethroughchuteindoor
whencradleis pressed.
Whenthe switchis movedto
CMJSEDIDICE, bafflein housing
channelscubesthroughthe crusher
and crushedice fallsthroughchute
into

Youricerndw will

120cubesin a 24-hourperiod,
dependingon freezercompartment
temperature,roomtemperature,
numberof dooropeningsandother
useconditions.
~Intermittent dispensingof iceis
normal.If ice flowinterruptionis
morethanbrief, iceclump(s)may
bethecauseandshouldberemoved,
following instructions belowand
on page6.
~Avoidoverfillingglasswithice
andusingnarrowor extra-tall
glasses.Thiscanjam the chuteor
causethe doorin the chuteto
freezeshut. Periodically openthe
freezercompartment d oorandlook
downintothe chute.If ice is
blockingthe chute,pokeit through
witha woodenspoon.
@ Tohelp keep bits of ice from
beingsprayedbeyondthe glass,
placeglasscloseto icechute—
butnot so closethatit blocks
outcomingice.
@ Ice shouhiinot be dispensedinto
thinglasses,finechinaor delicate
crystal-theycancrackor chipfrom
the combinedpressureof yourhand
pressingthemagainstthe cradle
and icedroppingintothe container.
~Ice shoukl.be dispensedbefore
fillingglasswithsodaor other
beveragemixes.Thiswillprevent
annoyingsplashingwhich,if the
splashreachesthe selectorswitch,
couldcauseit to stickor bind.
@ Beverages andfoodsshouldnot
be
in the ice storage
bin. Cans,bottlesor foodpackages
in the storagebin cancausethe
icemakerto malfunction.
@ Ice other thanthatproduced
byyour
shouldnot be
addedto the ice storagebin—it
maynotcrush or dispensewell.
Before
using
If refrigeratoris operatedbefore
waterconnection is made,raisethe
ice accessdoorandmakesurethe
icemakerfeelerarm is in the OFF
(up)position.
Whenwatersupplyhas been
connectedto icemaker,raiseaccess
doorto icebin andmoveicemaker
feelerarm to the ON (down)
position.
Ice cubemoldautomatically fills
withwateraftercoolingto freezing
temperatures. F irstcubesnormally
freezeafterseveralhours.
NOTE: Witha newly-installed
refrigerator, a llowabout24 hours
for the freezercompartment t o cool
downto theproperice-making
temperature.

willflushawayanyimpuritiesin
the waterline. Do the samething
aftervacationsor extendedperiods
whenice isn'tused.
