Ring pattern when an extension telephone is connected
If you absolutely must use another phone on the same phone line, you can disengage the TEL/FAX mode on
a call by call basic by pressing £ 0 before the fax machine begins communicating.
Once the fax machine has activated, the only way to turn it off is by pressing the (STOP) button on the unit.
The extension telephone will
ring twice.*
TEL/FAX delayed ring count
A call is
received.
The unit will not ring.
TEL/FAX delayed ring count:
Up to 4 ring signals will be generated before the unit answers, depending on feature setting #78 on page 75.
In the TEL/FAX mode, the unit will not generate an audible ring during this time.
Silent fax recognition ring count:
The unit generates audible rings to indicate that it is receiving a voice call. 3 to 6 rings will be generated,
depending on feature setting #30 on page 75. This signal will not ring at an extension telephone.
The unit will ring up to 3 times.***
Silent fax recognition ring count
The extension telephone will not ring but you can
answer the call with the extension telephone as
shown below.
1. Lift the handset.
2. Enter
back tone is heard.
The code number can be changed (p. 79).

The unit will automatically receive
document without ringing.
Answer

OR
The unit will automatically
activate the fax function for
