4-1. DESCRIPTION OF THE MECHANISM 1). CHARACTERISTIC OF THE S1-MECHA MECHANISM ! The S1-MECHA Deck satisfies both the VHS and NTSC/PAL specifications. @ The S1-MECHA Deck consists of three motors such as Drum Motor, Capstan Motor and L/C Motor. # The Front Loading of the S1-MECHA Deck is operated by the power of L/C Motor. $ S1-MECHA Deck System consists of Five operating Modes such as EJECT, FF/REW, BRAKE/STOP, REVIEW, and PLAY/CUE/RECORD Mode.
2). DESCRIPTION OF THE MODES EJECT MODE A. By rotating the L/C motor that runs the front loading to clockwise and counter-clockwise direction, the EJECT mode conducts the cassette-in/out operations. • Cassette-in operation: When a cassette is inserted with an adequate pressure, F/L Drive Rack falls out. And the cassette-in driving starts on the point of time when the light is transmitted at the Start Sensor.
Page 38
FF/REW MODE A. This is the mode that conducts the fast forward winding and rewinding of tape by rotating the Capstan Motor at high speed to the clockwise and counter-clockwise direction and running the Reel Table. • The BRAKE mode works when the END/START sensor is on during the FF/REW operation, and it conducts the review and cue operation temporarily.
Page 39
BRAKE/STOP MODE A. The BRAKE mode is configured between the FF/REW mode and the Loading section. When the PLAY, STOP or EJECT button is pushed during FF/REW, S/T-Reel Table stops immediately so that it prevents the loosening of cassette tape by the law of inertia. Therefore the BRAKE mode becomes the criteria of the unloading location when the power is off.
Page 40
REVIEW MODE A. This mode is obtained by pressing the REW button in the state of Playback. L/C motor rotates and CAM S/W mode transfers to REVIEW mode and Capstan Motor rotates backward with a fixed speed. At this time, a cassette transits backward similarly. B.
Page 41
PLAY/CUE/RECORD MODE A. The PLAY/CUE/RECORD mode performs the playback and recording while moving the tape from the S-Reel Table to the T-Reel Table at a constant speed. • When the Slow function is added, it can run at the PLAY mode. B.
