New features in 5620 SAM Release 12.0

This section highlights new data center management features for 5620 SAM Release
12.0 and provides pointers into the documentation for information about using the
features. Feature lists and high-level feature descriptions are also available in the
5620 SAM Release Description.

Deprecation notice

This chapter will be deprecated in 5620 SAM Release 13.0 R1 and the feature
information moved to the "New Features" chapter of the 5620 SAM Documentation
Map. The Documentation Map provides entry points into the customer
documentation suite from various user, role, function, and feature perspectives. The
document can be used today as an alternative to this chapter for navigation to new
features for the entire release.

Maintenance releases

Some releases may not be listed in this section, either because no new features are
introduced or the features introduced do not require documentation.

The 5620 SAM supports ageout constraint policies to
define the period of time the database retains
persisted virtual network objects.
The 5620 SAM supports discovery of read-only DSCP
mapping tables for VM V-Ports and software gateways.
The 5620 SAM supports DSCP match crtieria for ingress
and egress ACLs for VM V-Ports and software gateways.
The 5620 SAM supports discovery VM multicast groups
from VSP.
The 5620 SAM supports operational ports for physical
ports and LAGs on the 7850 VSG/VSA.
The 5620 SAM supports port profiles that define VLAN
ranges and provisioning modes for ports and 7850 VSG
LAGs.
