To turn, release pressure on the motion control lever
toward the direction you want to turn (Fig. 24).
To stop push the motion control levers to neutral.

Stopping the Machine

To stop the machine, move the traction control levers to
neutral and move to locked position, disengage the power
take off (PTO), and turn the ignition key to off. Also set
the parking brake when you leave the machine; refer to
Setting the Parking Brake, page 20. Remember to remove
the key from the ignition switch.
Caution
Children or bystanders may be injured if they
move or attempt to operate the tractor while it is
unattended.
Always remove the ignition key and set the
parking brake when leaving the machine
unattended, even if just for a few minutes.

Adjusting Height-of-Cut

The height-of-cut is adjusted from 1-1/2 to 4-1/2 inch (38
to 114 mm) in 1/4 inch (6 mm) increments by relocating
clevis pin in different hole locations.
1. Raise the height-of-cut lever to the transport position
(also the 4-1/2 inch (114 mm) cutting height position)
(Fig. 25).
2. To adjust, remove hairpin cotter and clevis pin from
height-of-cut bracket (Fig. 25).
3. Select hole in height-of-cut bracket corresponding to
the height-of-cut desired, and insert clevis pin
(Fig. 25).
4. Secure clevis pin with hairpin cotter (Fig. 25).

Adjusting Anti-Scalp Rollers

Whenever you change the height-of-cut it is
recommended to adjust the height of the anti-scalp rollers.
1. Disengage the power take off (PTO) and turn the
ignition key to off. Move controllers to neutral locked
position and apply parking brake. Remove the key.
2. After adjusting height-of-cut remove nut and washer
while holding stud with wrench (Fig. 26).
Note: Do not remove the wheel nut and washer (Fig. 26).
3. Select hole so gage wheel is positioned to the nearest
corresponding height-of-cut desired (Fig. 26).
4. Reinstall the stud nut and washer (Fig. 26).
5. Repeat adjustment on other gage wheels.
