Necessity of adjustments

There are three main scenarios where it is necessary to perform adjustments.
Actually, two of the adjustments are more an initialisation of the serial number
and a firmware update to specific modules than it is an adjustment. It is very
important to perform these adjustments before the product is left to the customer.
The ServiceTool is required to perform the adjustments and is placed on a USB pen
drive (only available in the back-up suitcase).
The three elements in the adjustments in BeoSound 5 and BeoMaster 5 are:
- Initialisation of the serial number.
- Firmware update.
- Adjustment of mains voltage.
An initialisation of the serial number is necessary after the following PCBs have
been replaced:
- PCB01, Mainboard in BeoSound 5.
- PCB01, Motherboard in BeoMaster 5.
A firmware update is necessary after the following PCBs have been replaced:
- BIOS on PCB01, Motherboard in BeoMaster 5.
- ML on PCB51, ML-PL in BeoMaster 5.
- FEP (Front End Processor) on PCB01, Mainboard in BeoSound 5.
Adjustment of mains voltage is necessary after replacement of PCB04, Power
Supply in BeoMaster 5.
