• Never vacuum up hot ashes, coal, cigarettes, matches or other
hot, burning, glowing, smouldering or smoking objects. Do not
use the appliance in areas in which there are hazardous chemi-
cals (e.g. chlorine, bleaches, fuels, solvents or similar).
• Never vacuum up toner (for laser printers, copying machines
etc.). There is risk of fire or explosion.
• Do not attempt to remove blockages with sharp objects as you
may damage the upright vacuum cleaner.
• Only ever use the appliance for vacuuming dry surfaces.
• Only ever use the appliance with good lighting.
• If possible, do not use extension cords. If you must use an
extension cord, use only single extension cords (no multiple-
outlet power strips) with safety certification and protection from
spray water which are designed for the power consumption of
the appliance. Care should be taken to arrange the extension
cord as it could be a trip hazard.
• Before use, make sure that dust bin and filter are inserted
correctly.
• Clean filter and dust bin regularly.
• If you have previously cleaned the filters, make sure that they
have fully dried before you store the appliance.
