Operation
Operating the
Power Take Off (PTO)
The power take off (PTO) engages and disengages
power to the attachment clutch.
Engaging the Power Take Off (PTO)
1.
Release pressure on the motion control levers to
stop the machine.
2.
Raise the cover and move the power take off
(PTO) switch to the "ON" position to engage
(Fig. 7).

Disengaging the Power Take Off (PTO)
1.
Release pressure on the motion control levers to
stop the machine.
2.
Lower the cover of the power take off (PTO)
switch. This moves the switch to the "OFF"
position to disengage (Fig. 7).

The Safety Interlock System

Understanding the Safety Interlock
System
The safety interlock system is designed to prevent the
engine from starting unless:
The parking brake is on "ENGAGED"
The power take off (PTO) is disengaged "OFF"
The safety interlock system also is designed to stop
the engine if you rise from the seat when the power
take off (PTO) is "ON" engaged or the parking brake
is not on "ENGAGED".
Testing the Safety Interlock System
Test the safety interlock system before you use the
machine each time. If the safety system does not
operate as described below, have an Authorized
Service Dealer repair the safety system immediately.
1.
Sitting in the seat, "ENGAGE" parking brake
and move power take off (PTO) "ON". Try
starting the engine; the engine should not crank.
2.
Sitting in the seat, "DISENGAGE" parking
brake and move power take off (PTO) "OFF".
Try starting the engine; the engine should not
crank.
3.
Sitting in the seat, "ENGAGE" parking brake,
move power take off (PTO) "OFF". Now start
the engine. While the engine is running, release
the parking brake and rise slightly from the seat,
the engine should stop.
4.
Sitting in the seat, "ENGAGE" parking brake,
move power take off (PTO) "OFF". Now start
the engine. While the engine is running, engage
the power take off (PTO) and rise slightly from
the seat, the engine should stop.
IMPORTANT: The unit can be started when
all controls are in a safe position, without the
operator in the seat, for servicing.
