Controls

Engine Switch
When the engine switch is in the On position, it allows the
engine to run. Moving the engine switch to the Off position
stops the engine.

Recoil-start Handle
Pull the recoil-start handle (Figure 6) to start the engine.
Fuel Valve
Open the fuel valve to allow fuel to flow to the engine. Close
the fuel valve when transporting or storing the machine
(Figure 5).

Throttle Lever
Before starting a cold engine, move the throttle lever (Figure
9) forward to the Choke position. After the engine starts, pull
the throttle lever back to the Fast position.
Note: A warm engine requires little or no choking.

1. Throttle lever
Traction-control Bail
The traction-control bail (Figure 6) controls the forward and
neutral actions of the machine. Refer to Driving the Machine
(page 12) for more information.
Tine-control Lever
The tine-control lever (Figure 10) lifts the rear wheels, causing
the rear of the machine to be supported on the aerating tines.
Push the tine-control lever down to engage the tines. Pull
it up to disengage the tines.
