Operation
Note: Determine the left and right sides of the machine
from the normal operating position.
Checking the Engine-Oil Level
Service Interval: Before each use or daily
Note: Toro Premium Engine Oil is available from your
Authorized Toro Dealer.
Important: Use 4-cycle engine oil that meets or exceeds
the requirements for API service category SJ, SL, SM,
or higher.
Crankcase Capacity: 0.55 L (18.6 fl oz)
Viscosity: Refer to Figure 11.

1. Move the machine to a level surface; stop the engine
and allow it to cool.
2. Clean around the dipstick (Figure 12).
3. Remove the dipstick by rotating the cap
counterclockwise and pulling it out.
4. Wipe the dipstick clean with a clean cloth.
5. Insert the dipstick into the filler neck, but do not
rotate the cap clockwise to secure it (Figure 13),
then remove it.
