5. Remove the 4 bolts holding the oil cooler and
position the oil cooler to the side (Figure 75).
6. Remove the 2 bolts holding the fan and fan plate to
the machine (Figure 75).

7. Loosen the bottom bolt and remove the upper bolt
holding the alternator and cover (Figure 76).
8. Rotate the alternator cover to the side and remove
the belt from the pulleys and alternator.
9. Install a new belt around the pulleys and the
alternator (Figure 76).
10. Install the fan and fan plate to the machine with the
2 bolts previously removed (Figure 75).
11. Install the oil cooler with the 4 bolts previously
removed (Figure 75).

12. Install the oil cooler shield and engine straps to
the rear frame with the 4 bolts previously removed
(Figure 74).
13. Install the engine straps to the side of the machine
(Figure 74).
14. Tighten the bottom bolt and install the upper bolt
holding the alternator and cover (Figure 76).
Tensioning the Alternator Belt
1. Place a handle between the alternator and cylinder
block.
2. Adjust the alternator to the outside until there is
1/4 to 11/32 inch (7 to 9 mm) deflection in the belt
between the engine and the alternator pulleys with
22.1 lbs of force (10 kgf) (Figure 76).
3. Tighten the alternator bolts.
4. Check the deflection in the belt again and adjust the
belt if needed.
5. If the deflection is correct, tighten the bottom and
upper bolt (Figure 76).
