Problem
Excessive noise in hydraulic system
After initial satisfactory operation machine
loses power
Cutting unit fails to lift out of work
Cutting unit does not follow ground
contours
Cutting unit fails to start up
Blades rotate in wrong direction
Possible Cause
1. Faulty pump
2. Faulty motor
3. Air leaking into system
4. Suction strainer blocked or damaged
5. Excessive oil viscosity due to cold
conditions
6. Low relief valve setting
7. Low hydraulic oil level
1. Worn pump or motor
2. Low hydraulic oil level
3. Incorrect oil viscosity
4. Oil filter element blocked
5. Faulty pressure relief valve
6. Overheating
7. Leaks on suction hose
1. Lift cylinder seal failure
2. Pressure relief valve jammed open or
wrongly set
3. Defective control valve
4. Mechanical blockage
1. Tightness in pivots
2. Mower operated in 'hold' position
3. Weight transfer set too high
1. Faulty seat sensor switch
2. Low oil level
3. Sheared drive shaft
4. Pressure relief valve jammed open or
wrongly set
5. Cutting unit blade (s)jammed
6. Cutting unit control valve in the 'off'
position caused by defective control
valve
7. Cutting unit control valve in the 'off'
position caused by electrical fault
1. Hoses connected wrong

Corrective Action
1. Identify noisy pump and service or
replace
2. Identify noisy motor and service or
replace
3. Tighten or replace hydraulic fittings
particularly in suction lines
4. Clean and replace suction strainer or
renew as necessary
5. Allow system to warm up
6. Have relief valve cleaned and pressure
checked. Consult your authorized
dealer
7. Fill hydraulic oil reservoir to correct
level
1. Replace as necessary
2. Fill hydraulic oil tank to correct level
3. Replace oil in hydraulic tank with
correct viscosity grade oil
4. Change filter element
5. Have relief valve cleaned and pressure
checked. Consult your authorized
dealer
6. Reduce work rate i.e. increase height
of cut or reduce forward speed
7. Check and tighten fittings. Replace
hose if necessary.
1. Replace seals
2. Have relief valve cleaned and pressure
checked. Consult your authorized
dealer
3. Overhaul control valve
4. Remove blockage
1. Release and grease as necessary
2. Move position control switch to 'down
/ float' position
3. Reduce weight transfer
1. Check mechanical and electrical
operation of switch
2. Fill hydraulic oil reservoir to correct
level
3. Check motor and cylinder drive shafts
and replace if necessary
4. Have relief valve cleaned and pressure
checked. Consult your authorized
dealer
5. Clear as necessary
6. Overhaul control valve
7. Have electrical system checked
1. Check hydraulic circuit and reconnect
as necessary
