    INTRODUCTION Thank you for purchasing the Omron IntelliSense™ Automatic Blood Pressure Monitor with Easy Wrap Cuff, HEM-773AC. Although your blood pressure fluctuates throughout the day, no self-adjustment is necessary as the monitor intelligently adjusts to your changing conditions. The IntelliSense™ monitor uses fuzzy logic intelligence to sense both your systolic and diastolic blood pressure values, and the result is personalized inflation with every reading.

    Do not use a cellular phone near the unit. Improper operation may result. Do not disassemble, repair, or remodel the main unit or the arm cuff of the blood pressure monitor. The battery liquid may leak and damage the main unit. Please observe the following points.

    QUICK REFERENCE GUIDE 1. Avoid eating, smoking, and exercising for at least 30 minutes before taking a measurement. 2. Remove tight-fitting clothing from your upper left arm. 3. Sit in a chair with your feet flat on the floor and place your left arm on a table so that the cuff is at the same level as your heart.

    BATTERY INSTALLATION/REPLACEMENT 1. Slide the battery cover off in the direction of the arrow. 2. Install or replace 4 “AA” size batteries so the + (positive) and – (negative) polarities match the polarities of the battery compartment as indicated. 3. Replace the battery cover.     HOW TO SET TIME AND DATE 1. When the batteries are installed, the display will show 12:00 a.m. 2. Press and hold the SET button. The year digits (2002) will flash. 3. Press the ADJUST button to advance the digit(s) one at a time. If you hold down the ADJUST button, the digits will advance rapidly.

    HOW TO USE THE AC ADAPTER To avoid potential damage to the monitor, use only the exclusive Omron AC adapter (HEM-ADPT1). To connect the AC adapter 1. Insert the AC adapter plug into the AC Adapter jack on the right side of the main unit. 2.

    HOW TO TAKE A READING If you are going to use the unit’s memory function to automatically store the measurement values, you need to choose user A or B on the User Selector before starting a measurement. 1. Press the ON/OFF button. a) All display symbols appear for approximately one second.

    HOW TO TAKE A READING 4. When the measurement is complete, the arm cuff completely deflates and your blood pressure and pulse rate are displayed. NOTE: The monitor automatically stores blood pressure and pulse rate into the memory. • When 21 sets of readings are stored in memory, the oldest set will be deleted to store a new set.

    TROUBLESHOOTING Error Indicator If you continue to have difficulty obtaining a reading, call OMRON HEALTHCARE CUSTOMER SERVICE TOLL FREE 1-800-634-4350. Please tell the representative you have an OMRON Model HEM-773AC. Cause Cuff under-inflated. Movement during measurement. Cuff over-inflated (more than 280 mmHg).

    CARE AND MAINTENANCE To keep your digital blood pressure monitor in the best condition and protect the unit from damage follow the directions listed below: Clean the monitor with a soft dry cloth. Do not use any abrasive or volatile cleaners. Do not attempt to clean the cuff. Never immerse the monitor or any components in water.

    Your HEM-773AC IntelliSense™ Automatic Blood Pressure Monitor is warranted to be free from manufacturing defects for a period of five years under normal use. The five year warranty excludes the arm cuff. The arm cuff is warranted for a one year period.
