Encrypted titles
Programmes recorded in encrypted form (F5|)
have the following restrictions:
The encrypted title can be played back, but it

does not mean that it is decrypted and saved
in the decrypted form.
Depending on the programme, it may not be

possible to play back/decrypt after
recording.
There are restrictions on the playback and

editing of encrypted programmes.
To copy an encrypted programme,

decryption must be performed.

Decryption
Decryption is performed when the unit is
turned off. It will take about the same time as
the recorded duration.
"COPY" on the unit's display remains
lighted during decryption.
It is also possible to decrypt manually
Refer to "File Decryption". (o 53)

• To decrypt, insert the CI module into the CI slot (^ 14).
During decryption, do not remove the CI module from this
unit.
• The title before decryption will be deleted once decryption is
completed.
• When the HDD does not have enough remaining space,
decryption will not start.
• This function is stopped when this unit is turned on.
Decryption will start from the beginning again once the unit
is turned off.
• The decryption will not start if the timer recording is
scheduled within the time required for the decryption.
• When a decryption fails, the screen icon (^-o|) is changed to
"g§|" or "gu (Grey)".
- |^|: In this case, try to decrypt the title manually. (^ 53)
- (Grey): When the title is copy protected (Copying is
prohibited) by CI Plus CAM, operation on the title is not
possible except for deletion. In this case, delete the title.
