Starting and Stopping the Engine
Once your vehicle has started, it remains
running until you press the button, even if
a valid passive key has not been detected.
If you open and close a door while your
vehicle is running, the system searches for
a valid passive key.
If you open and close a door while your
vehicle is running, the system searches for
a valid passive key.
You cannot start your vehicle if you open
the driver door and the system does not
detect a valid passive key.
STEERING WHEEL LOCK -
VEHICLES WITH: PUSH
BUTTON START
Your vehicle has an electronically
controlled steering wheel lock that
operates automatically.
The system will lock the steering wheel
after a short period of time once you have
parked your vehicle and the passive key is
outside your vehicle, or when you lock your
vehicle.
Note: The system will not lock the steering
wheel when the ignition is on or while your
vehicle is moving.
Unlocking the Steering Wheel
Switch the ignition on to unlock the
steering wheel.
Note: You may have to rotate the steering
wheel slightly to assist unlocking.

BUTTON START
WARNING
Always check that the steering is
unlocked before attempting to move
your vehicle.
To lock the steering wheel:
1.
Remove the key from the ignition
switch.
2. Rotate the steering wheel slightly to
engage the lock.
To unlock the steering wheel:
1.
Insert the key in the ignition switch.
2. Turn the key to position I.
Note: You may need to rotate the steering
wheel slightly to assist unlocking if there is
a steering wheel load applied.
STARTING A GASOLINE
ENGINE
The speed at which the engine idles
immediately after starting is optimized to
minimize vehicle emissions and maximize
cabin comfort and fuel economy.
