Taking still pictures using the monitor

Open the lens barrier fully.
• Slide the lens barrier fully open until it clicks.
• The monitor turns on and the subject is displayed.

Decide the composition while looking at
the image on the monitor.

Press the shutter button gently (halfway) to adjust
the focus.
• When the focus and exposure are locked, the green lamp
lights steadily. (focus lock)
• If the
mark lights, the flash fires automatically.

Press the shutter button all the way (fully).
• The camera takes the picture, and a beep sounds.
• When the green lamp next to the viewfinder stops blinking,
you can take the next picture.
• The orange lamp next to the viewfinder starts blinking when
the pictures are being saved to the card.
How to lock the focus
When shooting a hard-to-focus subject, point
the camera at an object about the same
distance away as the subject. Press the
shutter button halfway. Keeping the shutter
button pressed halfway, recompose your shot.
