Connecting the
Camcorder to the
Computer

Power the camcorder using
the compact power adapter.
If the camcorder is not being
powered by the compact
power adapter, scenes can-
not be written back and music
files cannot be transferred to
the camcorder.
This function is not available
with all camcorder models.
Refer to the footnote on
page 3.

Turn on the camcorder and
set it to ~ (video
playback) mode.

Connect the camcorder to
the computer using the
supplied USB cable.
• Refer to Connection Dia-

grams in the camcorder's
instruction manual.
• If the device type selection
screen appears, select
[Computer/Printer].
• The process of creating
scene thumbnails will start
automatically. Select [Skip] if
these are not necessary.
• When reading movies from a
memory card, scene thumb-
nails will not be created if
the memory card is write-
protected.

Once the installation is
completed, remove Disc 2
from the computer. Select
[Yes, I want to restart my
computer now.] and click
[Finish].

Click [Install] to begin the
installation.

not detected, you will be
asked to enter the
Certification code manually.
Enter the Certification code
you received by phone and
click [Next].

your camcorder and click
[Next].

Select NTSC as your local
video system and click
[Next].

Read the license agreement
and click [Next].
Select [I accept the terms of
the license agreement] to con-
tinue. You cannot install the
software otherwise.

Check the destination folder
for the installation files and
click [Next].
If you want to change the des-
tination folder, click [Change]
and select a different folder.
