Connection and starting
5 OPTICAL DIGITAL INPUT
Optical digital input, compliant to S/PDIF standard: This input can work with signals accord-
ing to the TOSLINK S/PDIF standard which is currently used by most semi-professional
and consumer products.
The digital data stream contains both stereo signals (left and right). Sources which are
connected to this input are mixed together with the signals coming from the inputs 3.), 6.)
and 7.).
Note:
If the AUX input is used and a plug is plugged into this input, the optical input is disabled.
6 USB INPUT (Soundcard emulation)
The fully active subwoofer provides a standard USB interface, which allows to connect the
subwoofer to a computer. The fully active subwoofer will then register in the operating sys-
tem of the computer as soundcard.

The DYN LOUDNESS switch turns the dynamical loudness function on (left position) or off (right posi-
tion).
The DAY / NIGHT switch selects the LED mode. During DAY mode the LED glows continously, in
NIGHT mode the LED goes off after signalizing the receipt of a remote control command.
The default values are (see picture on the left): CROSSOVER = 160 Hz, all equalizers turned off
(TREBLE = 0 dB, BASS = 0 dB), placement FREE, dynamical loudness turned on (DYN LOUDNESS)
and LED brightness = DAY.
This USB jack (type A) can be used to connect the optionally available ELAC
wireless receiver. In the twinkling of an eye, your fully active subwoofer becomes
a wireless audio system.
The music signals are transmitted wirelessly from the transmitter to the receiver
on CD quality level.
Selector switches for adapting the sound to special room conditions or to per-
sonal gusto.
The CROSSOVER switches select the upper cutoff frequency of the subwoofer.
Depending on the size of the satellite speakers, the crossover frequency has to
be adjusted to higher values (for small satellite speakers) or to lower values (for
larger satellite speakers). Next, there are 2 switches to adapt the balance of the
sound. The treble and/or the bass may be increased by 2 dB.
The two switches ONWALL / FREE and CONSOLE FREE offer basic equaliza-
tions for placement variants, as there are: close to a wall (distance less or equal
