These are some of the things to look for: • The power cable or plug is frayed or damaged. • Liquid has been spilled into the printer, or it has been exposed to water. • The printer has been dropped, or the cabinet is damaged.

Paper Input Jam Push the tab on the paper tray then slide the paper tray out of the printer. Remove the sheet that did not feed. Check the remaining sheets to make sure they are not wrinkled or stuck together.

Software Problems Your software (operating environment, applications and printer drivers) controls the printing process. Make sure you have selected the right driver for use with your printer. See your software documentation for more information. Symptom Problem Printing is “garbled”. Incorrect driver is installed.

Pull the manual tray down to a horizontal position and insert a clean sheet of A4 paper. The paper will be pulled automatically into the printer and PRINT CLEANING will be displayed in the message window. When complete the printer will return to the off-line mode.
Cleaning the LED Array Clean the LED array • Whenever you install a new toner cartridge. • If you see faded vertical areas or light printing down a page. Wipe the LED array gently with the cleaning pad that came with your toner cartridge.
Selecting Fonts in Your Software The easiest way to select fonts is through your software program. Your software can send a printer command that consists of a set of codes, one for each of the font characteristics. If your software has the appropriate driver, you can specify the font you want, and it will send the necessary commands to the printer.
Each font uses symbols from one or more of these sets. A list of symbol sets is available in the Programmer's Reference Guide for your printer which is available as a hard copy or on disk from your OKI dealer.
Printer Menus Use the printer’s menus to change the settings of printer features. Your selections stay in memory even when you turn off the printer. If your software can control a feature that is also controlled in the printer menu, the software will override the menu setting.
How to Enter the Menu and Select Options for the OKIPAGE 6ex Using the front panel buttons, you can enter the printer menu and change the default settings. Use your software to control printer settings whenever possible. If you can set a feature in your software, it will override the printer menu setting.

Replacing the Toner Cartridge Do not remove cartridge from packaging. Open the cover and remove the used toner cartridge. Shake the toner cartridge to evenly distribute toner. Unwrap the new cartridge. Remove the tape.

Insert the toner cartridge. When the cartridge is in place, push the blue lock lever forward until it stops. Close the printer cover.
At 5% print density, a toner cartridge will print an average of 2,000 pages. Remember, this is only an average: actual results may vary. The first toner cartridge in your new printer has to fill the drum reservoir and saturate the developing roller with toner. It normally produces about 1,000 pages.
Replacing the Image Drum Cartridge Open the cover and remove the used image drum cartridge. Unwrap the new Image Drum cartridge and remove the protective sheet. Insert the new Image Drum cartridge. Remove the sponge insert.
Install new toner cartridge. (see page 26) Reset the drum counter. For the OKIPAGE 6e, enter the Operator Panel. Click on the Service tab. Under Reset click Drum Count, then click OK. For resetting the drum counter on the OKIPAGE 6ex see page 25.
