The NS3300 Pilot sets CTS (course to steer) to the current heading, in this
example 40°, sets SWA (set wind angle) to the current wind angle and starts
steering at this wind angle.

Engaging the autopilot in wind mode

Manually steer the boat to open waters. Sail
straight at the intended wind angle.
The NS3300 Pilot info data can display TRUE (true
wind angle) or APP (apparent wind angle) (see
section 3-4)
To engage AUTO,
press
AUTO:
The Pilot steers the boat
automatically.
To disengage the Pilot, press
The NS3300 Pilot can also be engaged on the
starboard tack, for example:
Wind
APP = S40°
SWA = 40°
For example:
To engage HAND STEER,
HANDSTEER:
Steer the boat manually.
Display CTS in the info data
or course error in the bar data
and use these to steer by.
Wind
APP = P40°
The Pilot returns to STBY (standby). Steer
the boat manually.
or when running, for example:
