Digital zooming and degraded picture quality
In digital zooming, which is different from optical zooming, the image is enlarged using digital
processing. This can degrade the image quality depending on the using image mode (A 95) or
the digital zooming magnification.
The V mark on the zooming indicator shows the zooming position where the image quality
begins to degrade.
When the zooming position goes over this mark, the image quality begins to degrade. Also, the
zoom indicator turns yellow.
When the image size becomes smaller, the position of the V mark moves to the right side. Thus,
you can check the zooming position where the image quality is not degraded in shooting,
beforehand.
• The digital zoom can be turned off in the setup menu (A 124).
