4. Slowly press the primer bulb (11) 6-8 times, until
the gas/oil mixture flows in and out of the discharge
hose above the fuel tank.
5. Pull starter rope (9) briskly 2 to 5 times until the en-
gine attempts to start.

6. Place the choke lever in position B.
7. Hold the throttle trigger (8) with a hand, at the same
time, to pull the recoil starter (9) 2—3 times.
• If the engine does not start, repeat steps 3 through 7.
• Allow the engine to warm up for 5 to 10 seconds.
Place the choke lever in position C
• Stand in the operating position and clip the
shoulder harness to the support fitting that is most
comfortable for you.
NOTE: Choking is unnecessary when starting a warm
engine. Start unit with the choke lever in Position B.

Stopping instructions

Push the switch (6) to power off marked "stop" when
you want to stop the machine.

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS

Holding the blower/vacuum unit

Before operating the unit, stand in the operating posi-
tion. Check for the following:
• Operator is wearing proper clothing, such as boots,
safety glasses or goggles, ear/hearing protection,
gloves, long pants and long sleeve shirt.

Operating tips

• Be sure the vacuum bag is fully closed before
operating the unit.
• Assure the unit is not directed at loose debris or
persons before starting the unit.
• The unit is in good working condition, the tubes and
guards are in place and secured.
• Always hold the unit with both hands when
operating. Keep a firm grip on both the front and
rear handles or grips.
• To reduce the risk of hearing loss associated with
sound level(s), the use of hearing protection is
required.
• Watch out for children, pets, open windows, or
freshly washed cars, and blow debris away from
these.
• After using blowers and other equipment, clean
up your working area. Dispose of debris in trash
receptacles.

Operating as a blower

• Start the engine. See Starting/Stopping Instructions.
• Set the blower/vacuum mode change-over lever (7)
to the down position (A - blower mode).
NOTE: Never use the unit with the change-over lever
halfway in between either position.
• Place the shoulder harness over your head, onto
your shoulder, and adjust it properly. See "Installing
and Adjusting the Shoulder Harness".
• Hold the blower as shown in the figures. Sweep
from side to side with the nozzle several inches
above the ground or floor. Slowly advance, keeping
the accumulated pile of debris in front of you.
