Advanced (Recording pictures)
• When you take a picture with the flash, the
white balance may not be properly
adjusted if the flash level is insufficient for
the subject.
• The white balance setting is memorised
even if the camera is turned off. However,
the white balance setting for a scene
mode returns to [AWB] when the scene
mode is changed.
• You can finely adjust the white balance in
[UNDERWATER] in scene mode. (P51)
• The white balance cannot be set in the
following cases.
– Simple mode [
– [SCENERY], [NIGHT PORTRAIT],
[NIGHT SCENERY], [FOOD], [PARTY],
[CANDLE LIGHT], [SUNSET],
[STARRY SKY], [FIREWORKS],
[BEACH], [SNOW], [AERIAL PHOTO],
[UNDERWATER] in scene mode

ISO is a measure of sensitivity to light. The
higher the sensitivity is set, the less light is
needed to take a picture so the camera
becomes more suitable for recording in
dark places.
• When setting to [AUTO], the ISO
sensitivity is automatically adjusted to a
maximum of [ISO400] according to the
brightness. (It can be adjusted to a
maximum of [ISO640] when using the
flash.)

• ISO sensitivity is fixed to [ISO3200] in
[HIGH SENS.] (P49) in scene mode.
• To avoid picture noise, we recommend
decreasing the highest ISO sensitivity or
setting [COL.MODE] to [NATURAL]. (P64)
• The ISO sensitivity is set to [ISO LIMIT] in
intelligent ISO sensitivity mode [
(P42)
• ISO sensitivity cannot be set in the
following cases.
– Simple mode [
– Motion picture mode [
– Scene mode
