PART NAMES AND FUNCTIONS

(1) Front Panel

Power operation switch
(ON/STANDBY)
• When pressed once, the power turns on. When
pressed again, the power is set to the standby
mode.
• The color of the indicator changes according to
the mode, as follows:
• When the power is on: Green
• In the standby mode: Red

Cassette holder open/close button (
• Press this button to open and close the cassette
holder.
• When pressed in the standby mode, the power
turns on and the cassette holder opens.

Dolby NR selector button (DOLBY NR)
• The Dolby NR mode switches as follows each
time this button is pressed:
OFF
Type B
Type C
• When playing a tape, set the Dolby NR mode to
the same mode set when the tape was recorded.

Jog dial/direction selector button

• Press this to change the direction of playback or
recording on the cassette tape.
• Use this to fast-forward and rewind the tape.

• Use this for the music search operation (to move
to the beginning of a selection). (Refer to page 9.)
• Use this to adjust the recording level (volume).

CD synchronized recording button
(CD SRS)
• Use this button to record CDs easily when the
DRR-201SA is connected in a system with the
201SA series. (Refer to page 11.)

• Press this button for recording.
• When pressed once, the recording pause mode is
set.
• When pressed in the recording pause mode, a
blank space of approximately 5 seconds is
created, after which the recording pause mode is
set.

Reverse mode selector/counter reset
button (REVERSE/RESET)
• The reverse mode selection mode is set when
this button is pressed and held in for 2 seconds or
more.

• When pressed in the standby mode, the power
turns on automatically and playback begins.

• Press the cassette holder open/close button (

Line output jacks (LINE OUT)
• Connect these to the amplifier's TAPE input jacks.
• When connecting the DRR-201SA in a system
with the 201SA series, be sure to connect these
jacks to the PB TAPE jacks on the pre-main
amplifier (PMA-201SA).

Line input jacks (LINE IN)
• Connect these to the amplifier's REC OUT TAPE
output jacks.
• When connecting the DRR-201SA in a system
with the 201SA series, be sure to connect these
jacks to the REC OUT TAPE output jacks on the
pre-main amplifier (PMA-201SA).
• When these jacks are connected, the sound of
other components connected to the amplifier can
recorded on the DRR-201SA.

Power cord
• Plug this cord into a wall power outlet.

Counter display
• The tape counter is displayed here.
• During playback or recording in the forward
direction: The counter increases.
• During playback or recording in the reverse
direction: The counter decreases.
• When the counter drops below zero: The "–"
sign is displayed.

Level meter
• This indicates the playing level in the play mode,
the recording level in the recording mode.

Mode indicators
• These indicate the various modes.
• TAPE:
This lights when a cassette tape is loaded in the
cassette holder, and is off when no cassette
tape is loaded.
B and
C:
These light to indicate the Dolby NR mode (B or C).

modes, and flashes in the recording mute
mode.
• PLAY:
This lights in the play and recording modes, and
flashes in the music search mode.
