    RASS RIMMER RUSH UTTER PERATOR ANUAL SSEMBLY DRIVE SHAFT POWER HEAD Tools Required: 8mm x 10mm Open End Wrench, 4 mm Hex Wrench Parts Required: Power head, Drive shaft Assembly Stand powerhead upright on a level surface. Loosen, the two (2) bolts at engine drive shaft clamps, and remove center drive shaft location bolt (A).

    NYLON LINE HEAD INSTALLATION Tools Required: Head Locking Tool, 17x19mm Scrench Parts Required: Nylon Line Head. 1. Align locking hole in upper plate (B) with notch in edge of gear housing and insert head locking tool (A). 2. Remove split pin from hole in PTO shaft. 3.

    3. Install upper plate (D) on splined PTO shaft. Blade installation requires use of Upper Plate (D) with 20mm pilot (SRM-3100 models), 25.4mm pilot (SRM-3400 models). 4. Place Blade (E) over upper plate pilot, install the Lower Plate (F) and 10mm LH nut (G). Tri-Cut Blade (H) is installed with Glide Cup (J).

    (A). Check throttle for freedom of movement and that wide open throttle / low idle extremes are adjusted properly. If adjustment cannot be achieved with adjusting nuts, consult with your Echo Dealer for correct adjustment procedure. Connect ignition leads (C).

Parts Required: U-Handle Kit P/N 35130455830. Close choke and remove air filter cover. Disconnect two (2) ignition stop leads (C). Remove inner throttle linkage from carburetor swivel (B).

    RASS RIMMER RUSH UTTER PERATOR ANUAL AIR FILTER Level 1. Tools required: 25-50mm (1or 2 in.) medium bristle paint brush. Parts required: 90030 REPOWER AIR & FUEL FILTER KIT. 1. Close choke (Cold Start Position). This prevents dirt from entering the carburetor throat when the air filter is removed.

    SPARK PLUG Level 2. Tools Required: Scrench (combination socket wrench & screw driver) Feeler gauge, preferably a wire gauge. Brush. Parts Required: Spark Plug, NGK BPM-7A P/N 15901010630 Remove spark plug and check for fouling, worn and rounded center electrode. Clean the plug or replace with a new one.

    RASS RIMMER RUSH UTTER PERATOR ANUAL Use the wooden stick or brush to remove dirt from the cylinder fins. Remove grass and leaves from the grid between the recoil starter and fuel tank. EXHAUST SYSTEM Spark Arrestor Screen Level 2. Tools Required: Cross Head Screwdriver.

    CARBURETOR ADJUSTMENT Level 2. Tools required: Screwdriver, Tachometer (ECHO P/N 99051130017). Parts required: None. NOTE Every unit is run at the factory and the carburetor is set in compli- ance with emission regulations. In addition, the carburetor is equipped with HI and LO needle adjustment limiters that prevent settings outside acceptable limits.

    Add grease if necessary, DO NOT over fill. NYLON LINE REPLACEMENT Tools Required: Head locking tool (if head is to be removed) Parts Required: ECHO 0.105 in. Nylon Trimmer Line 15m (50 feet) long. Shut engine off. Lay unit on the ground with head assembly up.

    Index line out by pushing tap knob and trim to cut-off knife length. SHARPENING METAL BLADES Three styles of metal blades are approved for use on the ECHO Brushcutter. The 8-tooth blade can be sharpened during normal maintenance. The clearing blade and 80 tooth blade require profes- sional service.
