SSEMBLY DRIVE SHAFT POWER HEAD (All Models) Tools Required: 4 mm Hex Wrench Parts Required: Power Head, Drive Shaft Assembly 1. Stand power head upright on a level surface. 2. Loosen the two (2) drive shaft clamp bolts at engine drive shaft clamp, and remove center drive shaft location bolt (A).

If adjustment cannot be achieved with adjusting nuts, consult with your Echo Dealer for correct adjustment procedure. 5. Connect 2 ignition leads from throttle cable tubing to 2 ignition leads (C) on engine.

RASS RIMMER RUSH UTTER PERATOR ANUAL 8 Tooth Weed/Grass Blade is designed for grass, garden debris and thick weeds. DO NOT use this blade for brush or heavy woody growth, 19 mm (3/4 in.) diameter or larger. SRM-311 Series P/N 69600120331 Brush/Clearing Blade is designed for cutting brush and woody growth up to 76 mm (3 in.) diameter.
IMPORTANT location before starting. Echo Premium 2-Stroke Oil may be mixed at 50:1 ratio for application in all Echo engines sold in the past regardless of ratio specified in After Use those manuals. • DO NOT store a unit with fuel in its tank.

MAINTENANCE INTERVALS AIR FILTER Level 1. Tools required: 25-50 mm (1 or 2 in.) medium bristle paint brush. Parts required: 90030 REPOWER AIR & FUEL FILTER KIT. 1. Close choke (Cold Start Position). This prevents dirt from entering the carburetor throat when the air filter is removed. Brush accumu- lated dirt from the air cleaner area.
5. Use the wooden stick or brush to remove dirt from the cylinder fins. 6. Install engine cover properly, placing fuel vent tube into in engine cover. 7. Secure engine cover with one (1) screw. 8. Install top guard correctly, and secure with three (3) screws (install long screw in center hole) .
See page 11, "Specifications" for correct idle speed. Level 2. Tools required: Screwdriver, Tachometer (ECHO P/N 99051130017). Parts required: None. 1. Check idle speed using a tachometer, and reset if necessary. Turn idle screw (A) clockwise to increase idle speed; counter-clockwise to decrease idle speed.
LUBRICATION Level 1. Tools Required: 8 mm Open-end Wrench, Screwdriver, Clean Rag. Parts Required: ECHO LUBE 8 oz. (P/N 91014) or Lithium Base ® Grease. Gear Housing 1. Clean all loose debris from gear box. 2. Remove plug (A) and check level of grease.
NYLON LINE REPLACEMENT Level 1 Tools Required: None Parts Required: ECHO 0.105 in. Nylon Trimmer Line 15 m (50 feet) long. Shut engine off. Lay unit on the ground with head assembly up. Hold head firmly and push in cover tabs (A) to remove cover (D) and spool.
SHARPENING METAL BLADES Of the three styles of metal blades that are approved for use on the ECHO Brush Cutter, only the 8-tooth blade can be sharpened as an operator maintenance item. The clearing blade and 80 tooth blade require professional service.

If engine does not stop when stop switch is moved to STOP position, Manual and Safety Manual (if included) close choke - COLD START position - to stall engine. Have your ECHO for proper and safe operating tech- dealer repair stop switch before using trimmer again.
