MAINTENANCE AND LUBRICATION
Adjustments
Rear Axle Drive Chain Adjustment
All procedures used in adjusting the front chain apply to the rear chain
adjustment. Total slack for the rear chain, however, should be adjusted
to 1/4"-1/2" (.6-1.3 cm).
Carburetor/Engine Idle RPM Adjustment
Recommended engine idle RPM is 1200 +/- 200. If the engine idle
speed is unsatisfactory and all other conditions are favorable, the
carburetor can be adjusted as follows:
1. Start the engine and allow it to warm up for
approximately five minutes.
2. Place the transmission in gear with the
parking brake applied.
3. Adjust the carburetor idle screw (1) in or
out until the desired idle RPM is reached.
Turning the screw in (clockwise) will raise
RPM. Turning the screw out
(counterclockwise) will lower RPM.
