4. ELECTRICAL CONNECTION
IMPORTANT
When a heating system involves two or more interconnected radiators connected in a domotic
system, the power cables of the appliances must be connected to the mains electricity supply
with the same phase and in the correct order. Failure to observe this precaution would result in
short circuit:
Brown: Phase
Blue: Neutral
Black: Domotic connection
Correct and problem-free operation of the appliances is dependent on correct electrical con-
nection.
Connection is extremely simple, but a number of conditions must be respected.
Firstly, the mains electricity supply must correspond to the voltage indicated on the appliance,
comply with current legislation and supply sufficient power to connect all the appliances.
This appliance is designed for permanent connection to a fixed system.
The radiator power supply circuit must be fitted with an omnipolar cutout switch with contact
separation of at least 3 mm.
A number of appliances can be protected with the same magneto thermal circuit breaker, pro-
viding that the sum of the intensities of all the appliances connected to each magneto thermal
device at any one time does not exceed the capacity of device itself.
To this end and in order to determine the cross-section of the wires, the intensity corresponding
to the nominal power and voltage is given below:
500W: 2,2A
750W: 3,3A
1000W: 4,3A
1250W: 5,4A
1500W: 6,5A
Replacing the power cable requires the use of special tools. If it is damaged, it must be
replaced by an authorised service centre in order to eliminate all risk.
All internal wires, whether conductors, earth wires or domotic wires must have a cross-section
of 1 mm.
5. DOMOTIC CONNECTION
As well as the phase and neutral wires, the radiators have an additional black wire (pilot wire
for the domotic connection).
Digital appliances are designed to receive the domotic signal using the Gifam system.
In order to use this control, the black wires of all the appliances in the heating system must be
connected together and to the domotic control unit.
The connection order is irrelevant. The wires may all be connected in one point, be connected
in series with each other, or with a combination of these configurations.
The only condition is that all the black wires must be connected with each other and with the
domotic control unit.
The voltage flowing along this wire varies (max. 230 ˜ ) but is of extremely low intensity.
You are recommended to use insulated black wire with the same cross-section as the rest of the
system.
The wires may be connected using a one-way terminal board suitable for the cross-section of
the wire.
If you do not want to connect one, several or all the appliances, do not connect the black wire
of the appliance or appliances and insulate it.

6. INFRARED OPERATION

Digital appliances are designed for independent operation and may be programmed using an
infrared remote control unit (optional).
This type of operation does not require special or additional equipment and one remote control
unit is sufficient to control all the appliances in the system.
