You can set the stereo system to turn off
automatically so you can go to sleep to
music (sleep timer).
You can set the sleep timer even if you have
already set the wake-up timer or
timer-recording.
Before setting the sleep timer, make sure
the clock has been set correctly.

Play your favorite sound source (a
tape, the tuner or a CD).

Press TIMER.
You don't need to press TIMER when
you use the remote.

Press SLEEP repeatedly while the source
is playing to choose how long you want
the music to play. (When you use the
remote, you don't have to press TIMER.)
"SLEEP" and minutes indication appear
in the display. As you press SLEEP, the
indication decreases by ten minutes
from 90 to 10.
The power will turn off after 90 to 10
minutes depending on the length of
time you chose.

When you choose AUTO
The power turns off when the current CD
or tape finishes play back (for up to 100
minutes).
The power turns off, even if you pause the
tape or stop playing CD or tape.
To cancel the sleep timer
Press TIMER and then press SLEEP (or
press SLEEP on the remote) repeatedly
until "OFF" appears in the display.
To check the remaining time before
the sleep timer turns off the system
Press TIMER and then press SLEEP once
(or press SLEEP on the remote once.).
The remaining time is displayed in minutes
for several seconds.
To change the remaining time while
the sleep timer is on
Press TIMER and then press SLEEP (or
press SLEEP on the remote) several times
until the indication for the length of time
you desire appears.
Notes
•The daily and recording timer functions
can not activate during the sleep count
down.
•When SLEEP is set to "AUTO", the power
turns off automatically if you do one of
the following operations;
- stop CD or tape playback.
- pause tape playback.
Waking Up to Music
You can wake up to music at the preset
time. You only need to set the timer once.
Before setting the timer, make sure the
clock has been set correctly. The preset
timer activates at the same time every day.
To wake up to the sound of the radio, be
sure to preset the station you want to listen
to beforehand. (See "Presetting Radio
Stations".)
