If the footplate has been set to the lowest
position and the height of the hi-low
chassis has been adjusted to the lowest
position, you might find there is a clash
with the castors and the footplate. To
prevent this clash, turn the front castors
around so the directional locks are facing
backwards and engage the directional
locks (b).
Always keep the locking pin engaged when
you are not adjusting the chassis. This
will prevent the foot pedal being operated
accidentally.
For children over the weight of 27kg
(60lbs), raising the Hi-low chassis is a
2 person lift (UK lifting and handling
regulations).
Always use caution as hands could
become trapped when height adjusting
the base.

10.6 Height adjustment

– Basic chassis
The height of the Basic Chassis should be
set before putting the child in the seat. To
adjust the height loosen the ratchet handle
(a) at the rear of the main stem and adjust
the seat to the required height. To lower the
seat height, apply weight centrally on the
seat base above the centre stem. Retighten
the ratchet handle to secure.
Check the ratchet handle regularly to
ensure the seat height adjustment is secure.
Do not height adjust with the child in
the seat.
