CALLER ID OPERATION

The phone allows you to take advantage of the Caller Identification service that
may be offered by your local telephone company. Not all local telephone
companies provide Caller Identification service, therefore you must make sure the
service is available.
IMPORTANT: For your Caller ID to function, you must first contact your local
telephone company to arrange to have Caller ID service installed on your
line.
There will be an extra charge added to your monthly telephone bill for this
service. Please consult with your local telephone company for the Caller ID
service charge.
NOTES:
Batteries are required for Caller ID operation.
If an incorrect, invalid or incomplete Caller ID signal is received, the LCD shows '-
ERROR-'
If only the caller's phone number is received, the LCD shows the caller's phone
number with the time and date it was received. The 'NEW' icon turns on and New
Call LED blinks.
If the number is not available due to the caller's restriction, the LCD shows '-
PRIVATE -' with the time and date received.
If the number is not available, the LCD will show '-OUT OF AREA-' with the call's
time and date. The 'NEW' icon turns on and New Call LED blinks.
If no key is pressed within 8 seconds, the LCD will show the 'Answer-Ready' mode,
and display the total call counter, new ICON, current time and date.
Calls picked up on the first ring may not be logged in the caller ID log.
VIEW THE CALLER ID MEMORY
If you have new calls ('NEW' icon and New Call LED is lit).
Press [UP] or [DOWN] to read all of the most recent calls. The NEW CALL counter
will decrease.
Once all the new calls have been read, 'End of List' will be displayed.
Press [UP] to view the oldest calls, or press [DOWN] to view the most recent
Calls
NOTES:
1.The New Call LED will blink until all the new Caller ID data has been reviewed.
2.If the 'RPT' icon is turned on, you have received multiple NEW calls from the
same number.
3.If you receive a call from a number stored in (previously reviewed) memory, the
data in memory will be replaced with the new call's time and date and the 'NEW'
icon will be turned on.
If no key is pressed within 8 seconds, the LCD will show the 'Answer-Ready' mode,
and display the total call counter, current time and date.

Note: SETUP is used to set the TIME/DATE shown on the display and to adjust the
display contrast. If you subscribe to a caller ID service the TIME/DAY will be
automatically set when you receive your first call (SETUP is not necessary).
If you do not subscribe to a caller ID service, then use the routine below to set the
TIME/DATE. The phone will EXIT the setup routine if no buttons are pressed for 15
seconds.
To enter the SETUP program, the phone must be disconnected from the
telephone line.
When the batteries are first installed, the 'month' digits on the display will flash for
10 seconds. During this time the Time/Date and LCD Contrast can be set.
If the 'month' digit is not flashing:
With the phone disconnected from the telephone line, enter SETUP by
pressing both the [ERASE] and [DOWN] buttons for 2 seconds. When the
buttons are released, the 'month' digits will flash.
Press [UP] or [DOWN] to select the month and press [ERASE] to confirm.
Press [UP] or [DOWN] to select the date and press [ERASE] to confirm..
Press [UP] or [DOWN] to select AM/PM and press [ERASE] to confirm.
Press [UP] or [DOWN] to select the hour and press [ERASE] to confirm.
Press [UP] or [DOWN] to select minute digits and press [ERASE] to confirm.
Note: of you do not want to change the display contrast, leave all buttons un-
pressed for 15 seconds and the phone will EXIT setup (Time/Date will be saved).
Having set the TIME/DATE, the LCD shows 'LdS CodE -'. (Long Distance Code).
This is not required for use in the UK, therefore press [ERASE ] to confirm.
The LCD then shows 'CodE ----'. (Area Code). Again this is not required in the UK,
so press [ERASE] 4 times to skip this setting and go to next entry.
The LCD shows 'LCd 5'. (The Contrast of the LCD display.
Press [UP] or [DOWN] to adjust the LCD contrast. There are eight levels (from 0 to
7, default is 5). Note : at levels 0 to 3 it may not be possible to see the display.
Press [ERASE] to confirm and the phone will exit the SETUP routine..
