  • Page 11 R275HC TEST PROCEDURE Revised April 18, 2005 The purpose of this Test Procedure is to instruct both the Russound Test Department and any outside Service Technician. Equipment Needed: 2 - R275HC Amplifier R275HC Instruction Manual CD player Speakers Oscilloscope Inspect sheet metal.

    Audio Test: Stereo Audio Test: 1) Connect the CD player output to the Line Input Left and Right Channel. 2) Attach speakers to Speaker A and perform the following steps. 3) Press Play on the CD player. 4) The Front Panel LED will illuminate Green ***Note: The Front Panel LED will illuminate Green even when the Left and Right Channel Level controls adjusted for no volume, turned fully counter clockwise.

    Loop Output 1) Connect the Loop Output Right and Left channel to a second R275HC’s Line Input Right and Left channel. 2) Connect your speakers to the second R275HC’s Speaker A. 3) On the second R275HC adjust the following: Right and Left Channel Level set to fully counter clockwise. Stereo/Bridge slide switch to Stereo Power set to On.
  • Page 14 Low Cut (Volume Control Protection) Test: 1) Connect Speakers and Oscilloscope to Speaker A. Speaker A Left Channel to Vertical Input Channel 1 of Oscilloscope. Speaker A Right Channel to Vertical Input Channel 2 of Oscilloscope. Go to Dual Trace Mode of Oscilloscope. Adjust Time Base of Oscilloscope for 20ms.

There will be three jumpers total. ***Use 16AWG wire only*** Short R+ and R- of one Speaker A connector. ***Use 16AWG wire only*** Short L+ and L- of a second Speaker A connector. ***Use 16AWG wire only*** Using Banana Plugs Short two together.
  • Page 16 1) Turn the Left and Right Channel Level controls all the way counter clockwise. 2) Set the Stereo/Bridge slide switch to the Stereo position. 3) Set the Low Cut (volume protection) slide switch set to Off. 4) Press Play on the CD player and play any song. 5) The Front Panel LED will illuminate Green.
  • Page 17 The settings for each zone should be as follows before repacking: 1) Turn the Left and Right Channel Level controls all the way counter clockwise. 2) Set the Stereo/Bridge slide switch to the Stereo position. 3) Set the Low Cut (volume protection) slide switch set to Off. ***Step 4 is for the 230VAC R275HC only*** 4) Ensure the plastic plugs are inserted in Speaker B posts.
