Connecting to Your Computer via USB

You can connect your phone to a computer with a USB cable and transfer
music, pictures, and other files in both directions. Your phone stores these
files in an internal SD storage or on a removable microSD card.
If you are using USB tethering, you must turn that off before you can use USB
to transfer files between your phone and computer.

Connect Your Phone to a Computer via USB
1. Connect your phone to the PC with a USB cable.
2. Open the Notification panel and touch Connected as ....
3. Choose one of the following options:
Charge only: Charge your phone via USB (unavailable for Macintosh

computers).
Connect to PC Software: Use a PC software to sync data, such as

contacts and calendars.
Media device (MTP): Transfer media files on Windows, or using An-

droid File Transfer on Mac.
Camera (PTP): Transfer photos using camera software, and transfer

any files on computers that don't support MTP.
Share mobile network: Turn on USB tethering and share your

phone's data service with the PC. See

Install driver: Install the driver needed for connecting your phone to

your PC software, as a media device or camera, or to share mobile
network. You only need to install the driver on the same PC once.

Disconnect Your Phone From the Computer

To disconnect the phone from the computer, simply unplug the USB cable
when you're finished.
