Troubleshooting

Problem
No function when On/Off Trigger Switch (12) is operated
GB
Gradual power loss, intermittent cut-out
Chainsaw does not cut effectively, and produces fine saw
dust
Possible cause
No power
Defective On/Off Trigger Switch
Intermittent power cut out
Worn/ faulty motor brushes
Saw Chain (3) blunt
Chain oil reservoir empty
Chain oil delivery too low
Chain tensioned incorrectly

Solution
Check power supply
Replace the On/Off Trigger Switch at an authorised GMC
service centre
Replace the On/Off Trigger Switch at an authorised GMC
service centre
Replace using supplied spare brush set (see 'Brushes'), or
return to an authorised GMC service centre
Sharpen or replace the Saw Chain
Refill chain oil
Ensure chain oil path is not blocked with debris, clear debris
Correct chain tension in 'Tensioning the chain'
