DJUSTMENT AND
Your captain's chairs have the flip-up position for greater visibility and maneuverability
while docking. You can sit on the raised cushion or stand in front of the cushion.
The chairs are adjustable fore and aft and also rotate.
Rotation - A large knob next to the pedestal when loosened will allow the seat to rotate.
Make sure the knob is tightened completely so the seat cannot rotate while underway.
Fore and Aft Adjustment - A handle under the front lip of the seat when raised allows
the seat to move. make sure the mechanism is properly engaged to prevent seat
movement while th boat is underway.
O
PERATION
Your 272 has additional seating on the port side by raising the vertically stored support
leg to the horizontal position and then pulling the seat open.
Note: Sometimes, the vinyl on the seat can stick to the enclosure that encloses the seat,
preventing the seat from opening easily. If this happens, simply pull harder until the seat
opens. To prevent this from happening in the future, you can treat the vinyl with any
type of vinyl spray that will lubricate the finish. Check with your cobalt dealer for
further information.
With the seat in the open position, Make sure the support leg is vertical and locked in
position (catch on the forward end). The seat cushion can then be pulled inboard and
secured in this position by the chrome slide bolt. To close the seat reverse the
procedure.
Note: With the seat in the open position, you can see a stainless steel button (same as
the horn switch). This is designed to prevent the motor box from opening with the side
seat open. Make sure the seat is fully closed actuating the button or the motor box will
not operate.
