Main heat exchanger
The heat from the engine is transferred via the
coolant in the main heat exchanger to the
seawater. The main heat exchanger and the
expansion tank form one unit.
Exhaust header
Exhaust gas temperatures of a diesel engine can
reach up to 800°C.
In order to keep the surface temperature at a low
level, the exhaust header in Volkswagen Marine
boat engines is cooled by the coolant circuit.
The dissipated heat is then transferred in the
main heat exchanger to the seawater.
