- Page 3 PREINSTALLATION INFORMATION Before installing your new modem we recommend that you first remove any previous internal modem and accompanied software from your system. This step is especially needed if your last modem uses a chipset similar to the new modem. Please refer to your previous modem manufac- turer for exact instructions to remove their hardware and software from your system.

The following steps apply to Windows® 98SE, ME, 2000, and XP operating systems only. Please ensure you are using a sup- ported operating system.
