    Basic Commands (Direct Access) Lock Press and release Doors lock (if connected). The horn honks once, and the parking lights flash one-time. Lock LED turns on with one beep. To Lock and Panic Press and hold To lock the system, then activate Panic. For Panic to be effective,the optional horn honk feature must be connected.

    AUX/Trunk** Press and hold AUX. The AUX LED turns on and tones play to confirm. The Trunk opens (if connected) when this button is pressed for two seconds.     AUX 1 Press and release AUX Activates (or if ON, deactivates) the AUX 1 output. The AUX LED turns on and tones play to confirm. Car finder Press and release The horn emits one long honk and the parking lights flash for 10 sec- onds. The parking light flashes stop if locked or unlocked while Car Finder is in progress.

    Runtime Remaining Press and hold the button Requests the remaining Remote start runtime and temporarily displays it in four increments using the Confirmation LED’s. Example for 12 minute runtime: • Three LEDs: six to nine minutes remaining (50 - 75% of time selected).

    Remote Control Configuration The remote controls have operations that can be configured to a user’s personal preferences. The following instruction directs you through the available configuration and programing options for the remote con- trol. Remote Programming To Enter Programming: Press and hold the button for eight sec- onds, the transmit LED turns on to indicate the Main Menu is accessed.

    1-way companion remote control The 1-way remote will flash the transmit LED to indicate the setting.     Page Mode* Options: Power Save 1, Power Save 2, ON, OFF. The Responder LE remote monitors your system’s messages via Paging. When Paging is On the remote wakes up every few seconds to detect pages from the system. When Off the remote does not wake up to receive pages from the system.

    Remote Pairing Mode The following instructions step you through the remote pairing opera- tion of the Responder LE 2-way or 1-way companion remote control. Prepare the vehicle system for pairing: Turn the key to the ON position. Within five seconds press and release the Control Center button one time.

    Emergency Override The override feature allows you to select a specific number of presses needed to disable the system. If the override button has been programmed to a new number of presses by your authorized dealer, that number should be indicated as follows.

    Remote Start Features Key Takeover When you are ready to drive The system keeps the engine running until the vehicle is ready to be driven. To perform Key Takeover: Unlock the system and enter the vehicle, do not step on the foot brake.
  • Page 27 Precautions for the Advanced Start features: • Park the vehicle in a well ventilated area away from windows and doors that lead into inhabited spaces. • Lock the vehicle, the engine will not start unless the doors are locked. • Only one Advanced start feature can be enabled at any given time.

    Note The temperature and battery thresholds can be changed by an authorized Directed dealer if a higher or lower threshold is desired. Temperature Reporting During Remote start the vehicle interior is checked regularly for temper- ature changes. If a change in temperature is detected this report will be sent to the remote for display.

    Turn the key to off, and remove it from the ignition, the engine continues running for the programmed runtime. Exit the vehicle and lock the system. Note For Pit Stop on manual transmission vehicles follow the di- rections in the Manual Transmission Start (MTS mode) sec- tion with the door open.

    Turbo Timer Mode The system keeps the engine running for the Turbo Timer runtime and can be activated by remote control or optional dash mounted activa- tion button. With the engine running, set the parking brake. Press the optional dash mounted activation button or perform the Timer Mode command.

    Battery Information The Responder LE remote is powered by 2 batteries (CR-2016) and the 1-way companion remote is powered by 1 battery (CR-2032) that can be purchased at most retailers. When the battery begins to weaken, the operating range will be reduced. The information and precautions in this section can help maximize your battery’s life and usage in providing your Responder LE and 1-way companion remote controls with many years of trouble free operation.
