Battery Inspections/Maintenance
Battery Care During Storage
When the vehicle will not be used for a period of 10 days or longer, check battery water
levels (flooded type batteries) and perform one of the battery storage procedures listed in the
chart below.
Storage Period
Less than 10 days
10 days to 24 weeks
Indefinitely or Unknown
Battery Storage Options
Fully charge the batteries, park the vehicle and turn the ignition
key off. The battery will lose some of its charge during this
period.
Leave the charger connected. See page 62.
Disconnect the charger and arrange for monthly charging.
