RECYCLING
Recycling of Nickel-
Cadmium Batteries
Nickel-cadmium (Ni-Cad) rechargeable bat-
teries can be recycled. However, recycling
facilities may not be available in all areas.
Under various U.S. state laws, Ni-Cad batter-
ies must be recycled or disposed of properly
and cannot be disposed of in landfills or
incinerators.
Motorola fully endorses and encourages the
recycling of Ni-Cad batteries. In the U.S. and
Canada, Motorola participates in the nation-
wide Rechargeable Battery Recycling Corpo-
ration (RBRC) program for nickel-cadmium
battery collection and recycling. Many retail-
ers participate in the program. For the name
of the retailer nearest your location, call
1-800-BATTERY. This number also provides
access to other useful information for con-
sumers, businesses and governmental agen-
cies concerning recycling options.
