Never overload your vehicle. Overloading can cause tyre failure,
affect vehicle handling, and increase your stopping distance,
resulting in an accident and/or personal injury.
Improperly inflated tyres can adversely affect vehicle handling
or can fail unexpectedly, resulting in an accident and/or

12.4 Tire Pressure

Proper tire inflation pressure is essential to the safe and
satisfactory operation of your vehicle. Three primary areas are
affected by improper tire pressure;
• Safety
• Economy
• Ride Comfort and Vehicle Stability
Proper tire inflation contributes to a comfortable and safe ride.
Overinflating produces a jarring and uncomfortable ride. Both
underinflation and overinflation affect the stability of the vehicle and
can produce a feeling of sluggish response or over responsiveness
in the steering. Unequal tire pressures can cause erratic and
unpredictable steering response or may cause the vehicle to drift
left or right.
Improper inflation pressures can cause uneven wear patterns to
develop across the tire tread. These abnormal wear patterns will
reduce tread life resulting in a need for earlier tire replacement.
Under inflation also increases tire rolling resistance and results in
higher fuel consumption.
The proper cold tire inflation pressure is listed in the Tire Label
(Vehicle Placard), located on the front passenger side inner B-
pillar.
