Channel and Clock Settings
(General)
The [General] setup helps you to make tuner,
clock, and channel settings for the recorder.
Select [General] in the Setup Display. To use
the display, see "Using the Setup Displays" (page
64).
The default settings are underlined.

[Auto Channel Setting]
Automatically presets the receivable channels.
The recorder can receive VHF channels 2 to 13,
UHF channels 14 to 69, and unscrambled CATV
channels 1 to 125. First, we recommend that you
preset the receivable channels in your area using
Auto Channel Set.

Select [Tuning Band], and press ,.

Select [TV] or [CATV], and press ENTER.
[TV] (default): Presets VHF and UHF
channels.
[CATV]: Presets cable TV channels.

Select [Auto Channel Setting] and press
ENTER.
All receivable channels are preset in
numerical sequence.
[Channel Edit]
Presets channels manually.
If some channels could not be set using the Initial
Setup function, you can set them manually.
If there is no sound or if the picture is distorted, the
wrong tuner system may have been preset during
[Initial Setup]. Set the correct tuner system
manually in the steps below.

Select [TV] or [CATV] in [Tuning Band].

Be sure to correctly select the channel you want to
disable. If you disable the wrong channel by mistake, you
need to reset that channel manually.

Press ENTER while [Edit] is selected.
The display for setting channels appears.
The Channel List menu appears.
Press </,, to select the item and press M/
m to change the setting.
Ch. Fine
Ch. 2 0
[Ch.]: Selects the channel number by M/m or
the number buttons.
[Fine]: Fine tunes the channel to obtain a
clearer picture.
[Erase]: Disables a channel you do not need.
[Add]: Adds a channel you want to preset.

Press M/m to set the month, and press ,.
Set the day, year, hour, and minutes in
sequence. Press </, to select the item to be
set, then press M/m to set the numbers.
To change the numbers, press < to return to
the item to be changed, and press M/m.
Press ENTER to start the clock.
